Night of the Living Goths!
I'm still not entirely sure how this happened, but somehow on Saturday the 29th of October 2006, I somehow found myself, along with Cruel Brit@nnia from "Hex In The City" in Wolverhampton, DJing to a truly enormous crowd as the official WGW overspill event at The Metropole Hotel, Whitby! We were there at the invitation of Martin Oldgoth, the driving force behind the long-running "InsanitoriuM" clubnights in Colchester, numerous gigs, and of course the now-legendary "Glowstick" t-shirts frequently seen in The Elsinore in Whitby.
I can honetly say the night was both incredible fun and utterly terrifying at the same time, in fact it's probably just as well I was only invited in just over a week or so before the event, otherwise I'd have died of fright long before we started. It has to be said the temptation to just stick to plain middle-of-the-graveyard stuff was almost overwhelming, if I kill the floor at the SGS it's easy enough to get going again but this place was on an entierly different scale. However, somehow I managed to hold my nerve and I honestly think the resulting set (listed below the pictures, below) gives a reasonably accurate reflection of the Northern Scene as I see it.
