Hellifield in North Yorkshire was once an important junction on the Midland Railway's main anglo-Scottish route via the Settle and Carlisle line, and still retains its grand station building and Midland Railway canopies. It was thoroughly refurbished in 1994, and has been leased as business premises since then.
Hellifield is still a junction, with the now freight-only line to Clitheroe branching south from the main Settle - Skipton route. The traditional Midland signal box still watches over a traditional junction layout, with loops on both sides of the island station, arranged to as to permit access in either direction from any of the three approaches to the station.
