...here thou shall be weighed for truth

The next three images are courtesy of RangerChris, and show some of the subteranean goings-on in the vast three-room underground club held in the complex of caves and tunnels beneath the chatteau and its grounds. The French certainly know how to party!

Home Jaymz, and don't spare the horses!

And so it ended. The party continued into the morning and probably beyond, but the deep still of the night found us all, Inkubus Sukkubus and wandering fans, lying sprawled on the wonderfully soft grass by the chatteau gates, awaiting lifts, they to their hotel, we to the railway station and the early morning train back to Paris and our plane back to England. The journey out was not without incident, the French police breath-testing the drivers of each car as we left, but all too soon we found ourselves back on Melun's windswept station platforms, the chill darkness showly slipping past the the night wore on.

Our train, a suburban double-decker affair, pulled in bang on time at 04:45, and whished us back to the Gare de Lyon. Bleary-eyed we made our way, more by luck than judgement, across the platform to another train, one stop and another change saw us en-route to the airport at last.

As Rob and Steve had arranged to remain in Paris to witness the finish of the Tour de France, it was just Clare and I who slept our way back home on EasyJet's 09:30 am departure. Over the 13 hours it took me to get from Luton back to Leeds, with many sleep stops en-route, I will draw a polite veil.

And so ended one of the best weekends at a music festival I've ever experienced. France was wonderful, and the music was incredible. I will definetly be doing more mainland European gigs in the future.

Au Revoir!
