Entering the venue itself was an eye-opening experience, with the main stage being housed in a lovely neo-classical pile, possibly a former orangery, while traders, beer tents, and a well-organised barbecue occupied either side of a wide lawn facing the building. The main chatteau was out of sight beyond a bank of trees, but still accessible, and we had the freedom to wander over a large part of the estate. It was a truly magnificent setting for what proved to be a truly magnificent event!

Didn't I see this lot at Gotham?
Shortly after arriving I got chatting to these Cruxshadows fans from Germany, who'd driven down for the gig the previous day. I like the idea of unofficial "Quote" t-shirts!
Wandering into the venue itself found the
Tors of Dartmoor on stage, they played a
dark, heavy and atmospheric sound, and it
sounded very good indeed!

And then we got word that Inkubus Sukkubus had arrived, and headed back-stage, where we got a truly enthusiastic welcome from the band. Needless to say, the party was by now well and truly under way!
