Having marveled at the spectacular Gothic detailing of Notre-Dame, we crossed the other branch of the Seine to walk along the south bank for a short way, before crossing back via the islands to the north bank and down a traditional narrow street, lined with all kinds of interesting shops, punctuated by entryways to hidden courtyards. You could spend days in Paris just meandering down streets like this one, with good food and wine never more than a few doors away.
WHat a beautiful place to live!
